WHAT'S NEW?
Through 2012, and into 2013 FOCA has participated in the Provincial Policy Statement (PPS) Review - Northern and Rural Working Group. Revised policies for the PPS are expected later in the year, and will likely be debated as part of the Fall session of the provincial legislature. The PPS provides policy direction for land use planning, but this province-wide tool, largely focused on urban growth, does not always effectively serve rural, northern or waterfront communities. FOCA is looking out for waterfront interests through this forum.
Land use planning affects all waterfront property owners. By understanding the land use planning processes in your
community you can ensure your voice is heard in local land-use decisions.
