The landscape of North of Superior is made up of both Boreal Forest and Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Forest regions. It supports a diverse habitat for wildlife such as moose, lynx, great gray owls, and many fish and wetland species. There are thousands of small lakes across the region. The largely coniferous forest cover throughout the region means it is important for residents and visitors to be FireSmart. This area is ever popular, as people seek the natural beauty and the bounty of the region's outdoor experience.
Local, municipal government is an important point of contact for many rural, waterfront issues. FOCA has compiled a comprehensive list of municipal contact information for your area which can be found in the Municipal Contacts link at left; note that these documents are searchable.
